Artist's Statement: My work is inspired by the natural world. It begins with observed detail. I explore line and pattern found on the surfaces of driftwood, shell, rock, bits and pieces from the gardens. Organic forms and their rhythms, and the marks left by time and natural process fascinate me. The power of wind and water to shape and form the landscape are of endless fascination. I am obsessed with the idea that time, in its most abstract sense, is reflected in a concrete object such as a shell or as ephemeral a form as a leaf.
