Artist’s statement I always wanted to be an artist. Alas,
having been steered away from that as a child, it was not until I quit
my "day job"that I got the B.F.A. at age 34. The next 20 years
have been an adventure, traveling from painting, printmaking, collage,
and assemblage to arrive at fabric art. I made my first quilt last year
as an entry into America from the Heart. A week with Lucky Shie last summer
sent me home all primed to experiment with anything that I could sew together
as long as it STAYED together. I am still a novice art quilter and live
in fear someone will look closely at my stitches! Click on images for larger view |
